The camera and recognition

Object recognition runs entirely inside your browser, on your device's processor or GPU. Camera frames are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored by HappyTap — not to us, and not to any AI service. After the recognition model downloads the first time, the camera can work fully offline.

What we do collect

We use standard, page-level web analytics — Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics — to understand how the site is used: pages visited, approximate region, and general device and browser information. Analytics never sees your camera, the objects you point at, or the words you hear. You can block analytics with any content blocker and every feature keeps working.

What stays on your device

Your language choices and recognition settings are saved in your browser's local storage so they are remembered next time. The recognition model is cached by your browser for offline use. Clearing site data removes all of it.

No accounts, no sale of data

HappyTap has no accounts, collects no names or email addresses, and sells no data.
